Fellow CMAGE/CWA Local 4502 Employees

Fellow CMAGE/CWA Local 4502 members,

As you may be aware, CMAGE/CWA Local 4502 President Brien Bellous is taking disability leave. As a result, I will assume the responsibilities of the office of President of our union during his absence. During this transitional period, I welcome input and advice from all of our members.

I am pleased to report that our union is strong, unified and well equipped to fight the battles of the future, but I need your help.

Our rights as public sector workers are under assault. If we do not overturn Senate Bill 5 in November, everything that we have struggled for will be destroyed.SB5 strips us of longevity-based pay increases, increases our health insurance, pension costs and reduces collective bargaining to collective begging. Make no mistake; this is a historic assault on your rights and your job.

I call on all CMAGE/CWA Local 4502 members to get involved in the campaign to defeat SB5 on November 8th. I urge you to visit http://weareohio.com/ Click on “Action” and volunteer along with thousands of other CWA members across Ohio that are standing up for public sector workers and their families. Call Local 4502 to find ways you can get involved in the struggle. The whole country will be watching Ohio this fall. I want CMAGE/CWA Local 4502 to play a lead role in the fight to defeat SB5.

Contract enforcement is my top priority. The rights contained in our collective bargaining agreement do not enforce themselves.It takes an educated membership and a strong union to hold the City accountable. If you have questions about your contract rights, do not hesitate to speak with me, your Representative or Steward. We are here for you.If your rights have been violated, we will dedicate ourselves to obtaining justice.

Our union is only as strong as its members. Get involved.Explain the importance of the union and our contract to co-workers.Don’t let us be divided. Volunteer for union committees and projects. Encourage your fellow CMAGE/CWA Local 4502 to enforce their contract rights.Join in the campaign to defeat SB5. With your active participation and support, CMAGE/CWA Local 4502 can achieve great things for all of our members.
