Entry Volunteers Needed For Referendum Petitions Coming In

Now that the petitions are coming in strong we need A LOT of help with data entry. Every single signature needs to be entered into our database. The purpose of this is to make sure the signatures we have are from registered voters. So you can see this work is crucial to our overall success. I will be coordinating our efforts to fill 658 three-hour data entry slots for a total of more than 2000 hours of data entry.  I’m writing to you to see how you can help us fill those slots. Here are the details:

Where: SEIU’s Columbus office in the basement of 1395 Dublin Road.
When: Starting Monday the 9th from 9 am to 8 pm. Every day of the week.
What: Fairly easy data entry with lots of name pop ups so you don’t have to type a lot.

What #2:  We also need help at OEA’s offices to make copies of the petition starting Monday. We could use 3 to 4 staff just to help with that on an ongoing basis.

Local 4502 is encouraging our members to help out in this massive job. 1395 Dublin Road is close to Grandview Ave., and is close to freeway access and eating establishments. Why not show up for an hour or two after work, or over the weekend while out and about? It will be a great way to help in this important campaign and likely bring new friends in to your world! Every one of us is sacrificing time on this movement. The stakes are just too high to allow the chance that someone else may do it for you.

My experience so far is that the Public Sector Unions need to step up and help defend those rights and protections that are really more about them.....as it is, many of the Locals out there are private sector Unions who already know what this type of legislation would do to the middle class - and to jobs in this country that provide living wages.

Get up, Get out and Get engaged!!
