Local Programs Political Action To be recognized and respected as a representation unit, it is critical to participate in the political arena. Knowing and assisting elected officials lets them know that we are willing to work towards common goals, and helps when issues of employer abuses take place. One of the major ways we can help toward this end without sacrificing precious time is to join C.O.P.E.; CWA's political action arm. By joining COPE, you assure that Local 4502 has the monetary "clout" to have our voices heard. It only takes a little to go a long way to justice and equity. Sign up today! no amount is too small. Contents Local 4502, in unity with CWA International and all Labor, encourages Union members to step forward and excercise their right to VOTE. It is critically important that elected officials be supported who believe in protecting working class employees! A workers right to be represented (and protected) by collective bargaining laws are all at stake. Politicians recently elected to office are determined to eliminate worker rights and jobs that support families! These officials know they can't produce the things being promised...and the public will only realize it after the damage is done. As public sector employees, we need to get the message out loud and clear; collective bargaining provides very real economic and service benefit to the taxpayer.
